What is Surface Coder?

This software is categorized as semi-automatic that can be interfaced with an Automatic Weather Station (AWS). It uses the classic way of preparing the Surface Weather Observation using the Dry and Wet Bulb thermometers. Based on the dry and wet bulb depression, the dew point, relative humidity and water vapour content of the air will then be calculated automatically. It will then create the coded messages METAR, SPECI, and SYNOP reports.

The METAR, SPECI & SYNOP reports will be tabulated in a daily basis as will as data of the hourly weather observations will be compiled and saved in a database that can be accessed and utilized for further manipulation and future references.

Creates METAR - Aviation Routine Weather Report (with or without trend forecast) created every 50-minutes past the hour.
Creates SPECI - Aviation selected special weather report (with or without trend forecast) created when a significant weather arises.
Creates SYNOP - Report of surface observation from a land station created every 3-hours used in preparation of a Weather Forecast in a particular area.
Creates CLIMAT - Report of monthly values from a land station.
Transmits the created messages to AFTN.

Before You Download

This software was designed using 800X600 screen resolution display. It will open in maximize mood. You can customize the screen display as desired.

How to Install (Microsoft Windows XP® Users)

1) Right Click SurfaceCoder®, click Save Target As... 2) Click Save to save the zip file to a particular location. When download is completed, click Open and double-click Setup to start the setup process. You can then run SurfaceCoder from Start Menu.

How to UnInstall

To remove Surface Coder for Windows from your computer, go to Control Panel/Add Remove Programs then click SurfaceCoder/Remove.
